About Me
I grew up in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Madison, WI in 2004 to work on a research project I started in high school with Dr. Phillip Barak at University of Wisconsin-Madison. The research has focused on recovering nutrients from waste-water to be used as a fertilizer. I then attended UW-Madison from Jan, 2005 to Dec, 2009 and received a Bachelors of Science. After graduating, I got the opportunity to work as a Chemistry Lab Tech for Dr. Barak to finish up some projects I had been doing during my undergrad. In September 2010, I got hired as an Associate Research Specialist in the same lab. In the spring of 2011 I became the first President and Co-Founder of Nutrient Recovery and Upcycling LLC.
My interests have always been broad and include topics related to food, cooking, agriculture, language, education, learning, art, music, philosophy of science, history of science, medicine, chemistry, waste-water treatment, social and environmental issues, psychology, business, finance and economics, computer science and mathematics.
